I spend a tremendous amount of time asking Japanese people, in Japanese, what they think about Japan, love, sex, foreigners, language, and everything else under the sun.
This seems to elicit very different results than speaking in English.
Provided they don’t actively not want to do something, they will generally say yes if you suggest doing it.
If they know that it’s something you like doing, they’ll often act like they enjoy it and are eager to do it, even if they don’t/aren’t.
Let me share with you some of the interesting stuff they told me about Japanese women! Andre, a Jamaican man, went on a trip with his Japanese girlfriend. This exchange seemed innocent enough to Andre, until a few months later when their relationship got tense. Andre, the aforementioned Jamaican guy, also realised that he tended to have bad experiences with girls he met in bars.
They walked around the lake to enjoy the beautiful scenery. In the course of a conversation where she accused him of doing all the wrong things, she brought up the incident, saying that she had actually wanted to stay, and blamed him for not taking her hint. When he was dating her the second time, she was cheating on her husband. He was always looking for a serious relationship, but the girls from those bars didn’t want the same thing.
I moved here permanently in 2008, at which point I gave up eating cheeseburgers, wearing wrinkled t-shirts, and speaking English.
Overcoming the racial stereotypes and just being treated as a normal person is a big barrier. Chicks dig a guy with the ability to smuggle ET to safety. I call him Tim-Bob, because the first time we met, I thought his name was Tim, and the second time I thought his name was Robert. Anyway, Tim-Bob was halfway into his fourth drink and onto a familiar lamentation about his Japanese wife. Your wife can’t make more, since she’s a Japanese woman, but Oh, you sure can. Identical in every way – not exactly fountains of energy and interesting conversation, if you know what I mean.Just the occasional little hint that you’d rather be somewhere else doing something else will anger her if she’s enjoying it, and this is especially the case if she sacrifices for you. Recently, I interviewed a lot of people for my book who had dated or married Japanese women. ‘All right, let’s leave,’ Andre said, and they left. Most dates she's been on with local guys involve 'dinner' and 'drinks'. If you're feeling brave enough you can even invite her for dinner at your place. Note: For more cultural differences you can expect from the beautiful Japanese women you'll meet - click on the link. Or compared to China and Thailand where expats are viewed as having a lot of money and thus should pay. So if you plan on going for drinks I recommend keeping it light.Stand out in her mind with these basic cultural tips. Granted it does depend on the venue you take them to. Take her to a Karaoke - Japanese go on Karaoke dates a lot and this is where you can shine! They often won’t say what they really think, and will bow down to what you want to do.
