People wonder how millions of years could be squeezed into the biblical account of history. Christians, by definition, take the statements of Jesus Christ seriously.
Clearly, such huge time periods cannot be fitted into the Bible without compromising what the Bible says about the goodness of God and the origin of sin, death and suffering—the reason Jesus came into the world (See Six Days? He said, This only makes sense with a time-line beginning with the creation week thousands of years ago.
The water coming out of the hose is analogous to the continuous production of carbon-14 atoms in the upper atmosphere.
The barrel represents the earth's atmosphere in which the carbon-14 accumulates.
Then they carbon dated them, and she said that the closet one said 5,000 years, and the other was 14,000 and then like 100 and something... She said that some site that tries to prove Genesis, planted three trees together and waited until they were 5 years old. Being "home schooled" is no excuse for not understanding the maths and physics and chemistry involved. It is well known that Carbon-14 dating is not possible on objects that have not existed from before the atomic testing in the 1940s.
Then they carbon dated them, and she said that the closet one said 5,000 years, and the other was 14,000 and then like 100 and something thousand. Any attempts to get a meaningful measurement from samples that would have acquired their ratio of Carbon-14 after the beginning of atomic age cannot be successful because the planetary contamination of the environment has changed the ratios of C-14 in the environment.
So, we have a “clock” which starts ticking the moment something dies.
I'm guessing it's not cause then wouldn't it disprove all the creation religions that say the world was created only thousands of years ago instead of billions of years ago?
Confused on how accurate it is and why they seem to state the carbon dating results as fact when they find them. I'm guessing it's not cause then wouldn't it disprove all the creation religions that say the world was created only thousands of years ago instead of billions of years ago?
It makes no sense at all if man appeared at the end of billions of years.
We will deal with carbon dating first and then with the other dating methods.
by Helen Fryman Question: What about radiocarbon dating? Response: I asked several people who know about this field. (1.) C14 dating is very accurate for wood used up to about 4,000 years ago.
